About the Studio

The Trumpet Studio is a complete trumpet education program designed and directed by James Duhon. Fundamentals are addressed weekly through the teachings of Arban, Caruso, Clarke, Colin, Gekker, Schlossberg, and Stamp. Additional learning through literature is gained using etude books by Concone, Gates, Getchell, Goldman, Nagel, Snedecor, Smith and more. Students are encouraged to participate in UIL sponsored events. These materials also supplement lessons.

Studio members regularly excel in activities such as All-Region, All-Area, and All-State Wind Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Band. Additionally, students participate in Solo & Ensemble competitions at Region and State levels. Other events include studio recitals and concerts.
